WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR, AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The course is designed for individuals who have successfully completed initial 40-Hour HAZWOPER or 24-Hour HAZWOPER training or emergency responders who have received and are looking to maintain proficiency and stay current with regulatory changes that occurred this year.
This course meets the annual refresher training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192 for individuals working at hazardous waste cleanup sites.

Stay in compliance with both 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192 with this annual refresher course developed for employees working in California. This course satisfies 8 CCR 5192 refresher requirements for emergency response personnel. This program is updated annually in order to cover any regulatory changes, use of the Emergency Response Guidebook, personal protective equipment trends, chemical hazard classification, field safety, emergency response operations, respiratory protection, and revised hazard assessment techniques. Each student will receive a course manual and a certificate of completion.
8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training is intended to be completed annually following initial HAZWOPER or other emergency response training (40-Hour HAZWOPER, 24-Hour HAZWOPER, First Responder Operations) or prior 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training. NOTE: workers not completing a refresher after one year following initial or refresher HAZWOPER training are not permitted to work at a qualified site, and Cal/OSHA requires completion of a refresher within 24 months to avoid having to re-take 40-/24-Hour HAZWOPER training; federal OSHA has set no explicit such time frame.
Individuals who are medically evaluated, present a physician’s written consent, and bring their personal respirator will receive a qualitative fit test free of charge.
